Initial consultation is 50 minutes. This includes an assessment of growth and medical history, feeding and meal time habits and a dietary intake review to establish nutritional adequacy. We will discuss any clinical requirements and any concerns you may have. We will set practical goals for you which will be written up in the report with guidance on how to achieve this. There is an optional 10 minutes review call to ensure your understanding and whether you need any follow up support.
Follow ups are to review and help to progress against the objectives set at the intial consultation.
These sessions may include food exposure work, food chaining, messy play, monitoring weight and height, working on any food anxieties and supporting with any ongoing concerns you may have.
Yes, if a meal plan is required this will be provided.
A dietitian is a regulated health care professional (HCPC registered) who can diagnose, assess and treat dietry nutitritional concerns. All dietitian are nutritionists but nutritionists are not dietitians.
A nutritionist does not have to have a qualification and typically focuses on general health, wellness, and promoting healthy eating behaviors rather than treating specific medical illnesses.
The number of sessions required will depend on the individual needs and complexity. During the intial assessment I will likely be able to give some guidance whether you need just regular sessions. Sometimes the intial consultation, written up report and a complenetary follow up is enough for parents to feel confident in managing themselves. Other times clients may want weekly, monthly or quarterly sessions to support them on their journey.
If you are unsure if my service is for you then you can fill out the enquiry form or WhatsApp me from the contact me page. The discovery call option is for talking to me directly over video conference to discuss your questions. If you are happy to get my support then book the intial consultation by using the link above.
As I am registered with HCPC this covers me to practice in the UK only.
